I believe that students learn best when they are active learners and the material is relevant to them. I work to help students make deep connections between what they are learning, what they already know and the reality of the world around them. We experience math every day but may not always see it. When students can make connections to the material they are more likely to internalize it and be able to apply it in a new context later. My tutoring sessions are not merely homework help; my goal is to help students come to a deeper understanding of the material. We work hard and we have fun!
With a degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Education, I have over 15 years of experience teaching high school math. Having taught Algebra through AP Calculus BC, I understand what students need at each point in their math journey to thrive.
